In 2017, I earned my degree in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton, where my academic focus centered heavily on protecting and advocating for the well-being of others.
During this time, I came to value the importance of effective communication and empathy when it comes to serving individuals.
Although I gained such meaningful experience through my college internships, I found it difficult to secure a promising career after I left. Some call it belonging, some call it purpose. I hoped to reconnect with empathy to offer fresh, creative solutions to people's challenges.
When the entire world was rocked by the pandemic, my world (like many others) felt in limbo—uncertain, undecided.
Of course, this was when I thought, "Maybe it's time to change careers." And I did.
I came across a UX Design intro course and decided to give it a go. And then came that little spark ✨
I learned the foundations, graduated from an intense bootcamp, and now here I am—pivoting my new career into this thing called UX.
I hope to continue serving as an advocate for individuals such as I learned back in college. It is only different now as I find UX design to be a perfect blend of my interests and skills, in which I am able to develop meaningful and inclusive solutions.
With that, I intend on always staying curious on what makes "good" design and seeking creative solutions where I can. Needless to say, UX has been an empowering journey. And I can't wait to continue creating products that will empower others as well 🫶
